Nintendo DSi - Unboxing
By Gaetano Prestia
We received our Nintendo DSi in the mail yesterday and we decided to tease you with an unboxing of the updated hardware before its release on April 2nd.
The box comes with everything you'd expect, including all manuals and a special invite to the Nintendo Club. There's also an extra stylus in there for extra keeping.
The Nintendo DSi Box - It's white, it's clean, it's gorgeous. You know there is something amazing waiting for you inside!
We open up the box to discover it's all nicely packaged in - all the manuals, and...
...a cool little invite to an awesome club!
Nintendo are never short on manuals and instructions, that's for sure!
We pull the Nintendo DSi out, but we'll unpack it in a bit.
An extra stylus. Nintendo know what we want! They are so easy to lose!
The Nintendo DSi in all of its glory! Its glossy finish has been replaced with a matte one - no more fingerprints!
We open it to discover a larger screen.
The "power on" slider has been replaced with a button, which now allows you to reset back to the main-menu during a game without resetting the entire console.
The DSi has two internal cameras - one on the inside facing you and the other...
...on the back of the top screen.
The older brother is looking after the younger one. Side-by-side and at first glance, there isn't much difference. Most of the new features can be discovered when you turn the system on.
The DSi is slightly longer than the DS Lite, but not overly noticeably. This probably has to do with the inbuilt cameras.
They are also roughly the same, thickness wise.
So, there you have it! The Nintendo DSi in all of its glory! We'll have a video preview/review up shortly before the handheld is launched on April 2nd. Don't forget that if you're in Melbourne, you can head down to the Swanson St. EB Games Store to The Nintendo Experience to get the DSi before anyone else in Australia!
