I think it was a simple port of the PSP version 7 months ago, and now they updated all the textures. Pretty much changes the entire visual style. I hope they add a car-customize feature like in the NFS series. =D

3D world... where everything, even flat stuff, are in 3D.

You should give Ridge Racer DS a go. It's one of my favourite Ridge Racer games ever.

Yeah, sub-par graphics, but fun once you get used to the classic drift racing controls and bump into walls less it's a fun + rewarding game.

I had the PS1 version, the greatest thing I remember about it was the loading screen. It was a top down space shooter, like Galaxa or whatever that game's name was. Lemme find a pic....

Update:

Finally got to have a go and all I can say is WOW. The 3D is much better than I ever expected and the game runs like a dream. So much better than I ever expected.
