MMGN: For better or worse?

Ok, I'm gonna cut straight to the chase as I'm tired, and I think this desrves its own topic, despite it being somewhat of a 'Rant'. Does anyone like this new MMGN set up? It's been 4 or so months and I dunno, it still hasn't sunk in.

I still like typing in myps3.com.au into my search bar out of habit; I don't really participate in convos much anymoore as all these new people from other sites like MyWii and My360 etc. come here and I'm thinking 'who are they?' and 'where did they come from?'; and a lot of decent people have come and gone within the 4 months.

I dunno, maybe I whinge too much, or maybe becuase I don't adapt to change very well, but I miss the ol' days.

community. Do you think sites like IGN and Gamespot made it as far as they have by limiting the accessibility of their communities?

What Roy and everyone at the helm of MMGN do they do with the community ENTIRELY in mind. To think otherwise, especially ith unsubstantial and outlandish claims, is extremely naive and, quite frankly, ridiculous. The inclusion of ads reflect how much effort and resources are required to keep the site you post on regularly operational. Surely you guys don't think maintaining a site as big as MMGN is cheap/free, right? The ads pay MMGN's bills...nothing more, nothing less. Yes, they're annoying, but every deal has a trade-off. Business students should understand from an economic standpoint.

We don't expect everyone to take the change aboard with open arms. We try to make it as smooth as possible to optimise everyone's enjoyment but we also know its impossible to please everyone. We try our hardest and, from my point of you, the merge has been extremely successful as we've achieved what we set out to do...which is to bring all the communities together.

I'm sorry some of you don't consider this site to be your own little private social group anymore...but all I can really say without sounding too harsh is "deal with it". All these "random people" have been your neighbours for quite some time and I think they're just as entitled to participate in your discussions as you and your former Mysite buddies.

What's wrong with meeting a few new people and getting to know them?

I'd say the bigger site means more cool people to chat with. Just put in some effort, everything had us in mind and I enjoy the ease of use between different mymedia sites.

Really think about it, even before they merged out usernames and passwords were available around the whole network. :)

And the adds are just there to pay costs, they're not designed to make your life miserable.
