As many of you have noticed by now that all existing clan badges under members avatars have been removed. This was done because we don't run clans on this site anymore.
I'm sure some of you are feeling a bit of emptiness when you look below your avatar and see a blank space, but don't fret we have something very special for you guys that will fill that vacant space.

Introducing the MyDS exclusive "Experienced Member Badges".

Let me brake it down for everyone. Basically we have 3 badges up for grabs, Regular, Experienced and Veteran. Each badge represents a period of time you have been on this site. These badges give people an indication on how well you know the site. For example a member with an Experienced badge should have familiarised themselves with all the site rules and how everything works around here and therefore would be a good person to ask for directions.

NOTE: As of now, we're no longer combining different channel's badges. That is, if you had a badge from the PSP channel and a badge from the Wii channel combined, that will no longer be allowed. This will exclude anyone who already had their badges combined prior to this new rule

The Regular Badge Signifies 3 months of membership on MyDS.com.au. At this point a member that has been around this long would know where the rules section is and has spent some time looking over it. You should also have a rough idea who all the admins and admin-likes are and who to talk to if you have a problem or question about the site.

Note: you must have at least 500 kudos to get this badge so forum and comments contributions are need, but no spamming please.

Regular Requirements:
• Been a member of MyDS.com.au for 3 Months
• Have a minumum of 500 kudos - but no spamming to reach this

The Experienced Badge Signifies 6 months of membership on MyDS.com.au. After half a year on the site you should know all the rules, how things work. You should know most of the site features, you are one with the "Find (Search) bar", and are willing to help out new members. You also know who all the Admins and Admin-Likes are and who to contact with any question or problems regarding the site.
A member that has an experienced badge under their avatar is good person to ask a question if you are new.

Note: You need at least 700 kudos to receive a badge, but no spamming please

Experienced Requirements:
• Been a member of MyDS.com.au for 6 Months
• Have a minumum of 700 kudos - but no spamming please

The Veteran Badge Signifies a member that has been with MyDS.com.au for over a year. You're a loyal member and have been around since the early days of the site. You've probably watched the site grow and slowly evolve into what we have today. Most likely you have contributed heaps to the forums, added some news, pictures, videos and had your say about a game in a review. The site rules and features are basically second nature to you and people already know that you're a good person to see with a question.

Note: Since you have been here over a year you should have at least 1000 kudos which will be the minimum number to have this badge you should definately beaware not to spam to reach this.

Veteran Requirements:
• Been a member of MyDS.com.au for 12 Months
• Have a minumum of 1000 kudos - but no spamming please

So that's basically it but now we're going to have to lay down some ground rules to make sure these badges don't get abused in anyway.

• Just because you have a badge doesn't mean you have any authority over anyone else. Let's teat all people as equals here

• If you have a badge and break the rules which results in a ban your badge will be removed for a set period of time.
• If anyone is caught claiming authority over someone else because of their badge, that persons badge will be removed until further notice.

So I'm guessing your wondering how to get one of these. First off we will not be auto issuing these badges. If you would like one just post in this thread how long you have been on the site (it says how long you have been here in your profile, we will be checking before we grant the badges or you can PM an admin with your details.

Note: These badges will be on trial at first and if everything goes smoothly we'll keep them as a permanent thing.

Yep, treat them equally by dividing them into different classes

It's not a class, basically it just shows how long you've been around the site, this is exactly why it is on trail though, if people start thinking it is a class or they outrank people or anything it will go.
