Ben said: What do you want to know? Reiterating what Guyver said admins have nothing to do with advertising or even the general running of the site. They're just forum moderators, so don't ask them to get rid of such ads as they have no more power than you to do so.
Ads aren't just based on clicks, many are also done on unique views. Viewing the ad or clicking close as soon as one comes up is generally just as good, but every campaign is different and most can't really be discussed in detail due to the nature of agreements. Blocking it means it takes longer to get to the target figure and longer for ads to be removed. We are trying to avoid intrusive ads in the future, but MMGN doesn't hand pick its ads. They're arranged through advertising agencies, and especially during a quiet period like this we have to take what's available. Having said that, we're working towards making them all less annoying as everyone involved in MMGN at a staff level spends countless hours here as well!
