"QANTAS has grounded its entire domestic and international fleet of aircraft and will lock out all staff involved in its industrial dispute from Monday night.

"This is an unprecedented move. It comes in the middle of a bitter dispute with staff and will strand thousands of passengers in Australia and around the world."

Qantas really needs to sort this out or they will lose more money and shareholders, theyd probs be better off giving eeryone a raise, and also people wont miss their flights that could be really important e.g funeral or wedding. But he said 2 weeks ago that QANTAS have the highest paid workers, but also a greedy 3 Million annual salary CEO, but i have no idea why this is happening, literally, so goodbye

Perth born and raised. I'll admit, it's not a bad place to live. However I wouldn't want to come here as a tourist. Same goes for Adelaide.

I hope this strike gets the staff better working conditions

ur joking right? safest airline in the world? have u not watched the news lol theres all ways problems with Qantas lol they are probbably the worst

Qantas haven't had a single fatal incident, and I believe are the only major Airline in the world to not have.

Yea! Go Marge! ... i mean Qantas ... [Shifty]
in around 1965 the Japs shot one down and everyone on board was killed. that is the only fatal accident that i know of.

Yeah, but how about that QANTAS flight suddenly falling (failed engine?) causing people to fly to the ceiling?

You can stop talking in this thread now
i knew this guy who was sick then thousand of tiny qantas jets burst out of a sore on his face

true story i swear
Right, there was this 'airy Chinese kid, an' that.

Which is a bit weird since they're not usually 'airy over there innit?

...but then a QANTAS plane flew into his house and killed him.
I know a guy who was walking down the street and a couple on a qantas plane were joining the mile high club and when they were finished they dumped the used condom down the toilet and it got sucked outta the plane and flew all the way to the ground and landed on some dudes head...

True story.

Can't get around this.

It was also stressed that Mr Joyce was available to speak to Ms Gillard, although she never called him until after the revelations yesterday morning.

It's just failure. All the fingers are pointed at Joyce (no surprise -- if you oppose the unions you're walking meat for the lions) even though Qantas was screwed before he even showed up. The government knew of this and could have acted but didn't.

Are people going to continue to make excuses for this incompetent government that doesn't even know how to govern? What's the reasoning now? Is it all Howard's fault?

Hell, Hawke would have been on the phone day one and would have told them all to get back to work. This would never have happened under Howard or Rudd. She is AWFUL. It's pathetic how much this goon of a PM appeases the unions and Greens. It makes me sick.

Minority.
Well, to be fair, she does have the Melbourne Cup to attend.

Priorities first.
