Games were frankly mindless until the Playstation age. Having the ability to have proper music rather than that midi crap was the turning point in my mind. Prior to that, there were the _occasional_ good-ish games with "story" but you really had to use your imagination. You don't any more... Other than that it was just repetitive rubbish. I played them, but it is like stuff you did as a child that when you think about now you cringe. Or even Wes Craven films. I loved them as a teen. Then when I make the mistake of seeing them now I think they are just lame. So I tend to leave them as fond memories now and won't look at them again. I don't feel nostalgic about the games though..... I find the nintendo set to be more nostalgic about them though. The nintendo games are often more "old school"
