Flooding in Queensland

First of all, I hope everybody in Towoomba is safe and hasn't lost any loved ones in the flash flooding.

Anyone else in Queensland feeling the major flooding going on? I live in Gympie QLD and if any of you know where that is you'll know we're having lots of fun ^_^ The Mary river Hit 19 meters and is only just starting to fall... with some more heavy rain forecast...

Thanks to Gympie the supply line to pretty much all of northen QLD is cut off.

@S0NY i've heard reports of people playing in flash flood waters and some people almost getting sucked into drainage waters and such. But yes, People are actually playing in the flood waters

Edit: Anyone who thinks about swimming/playing in flood water... think again.

Countless people have died over the years for being stupid enough to play in flood waters. It's ok in some places IF YOU KNOW THE AREA otherwise people just get sucked into storm drains and die..

2 Girls were playing in flood water, one got sucked under and shot out another storm drain, the other got stuck with her head stuck at water level with 3 people having to hold her head above water... naturally she went into shock and almost died without drowning... so it would appear that the is alot wrong with playing in the rain.

When it flooded in SA 15yrs ago we went out to play in the water, until the old man pointed out that everyones septic tanks had overfowed and we were basically paddling in diluted sewage. word to the wise.

Daseti is exactly right but its not just that though. you shouldnt go in flood water simply because its so full of crap and toxins it will make you sick, you can get stabbed by debris and swallow infected water you dont know whats in it especially what animals have died in it.
im not surprised this has happened. weve had so much rain lately and the drought is breaking and the weather has changed so all this La Niña and El Niño weather stuff has come in and done its thing

also guys be careful of snakes, they can swim remember dont be stupid thinking they cant...
