Flooding in Queensland

First of all, I hope everybody in Towoomba is safe and hasn't lost any loved ones in the flash flooding.

Anyone else in Queensland feeling the major flooding going on? I live in Gympie QLD and if any of you know where that is you'll know we're having lots of fun ^_^ The Mary river Hit 19 meters and is only just starting to fall... with some more heavy rain forecast...

Thanks to Gympie the supply line to pretty much all of northen QLD is cut off.

Crocs yes - Sharks no.

Most of the water is Dam catchment, Rain water and the Rivers.

It's perfactly drinkable :D

Actually, I heard that some of the water treatment plants in some towns are not working properly so the asked all residents to boil water before drinking :S :S

Heaps of bull sharks in the Brisbane River. There was even a documentary called "RIVER MONSTERS" on discovery channel that did a special on the brisbane river. the bullsharks came upstream in the 1974 floods. A lot of them got stuck behind weirs after the 1974 floods supsided.

It took me 6hrs to get home to Bribie Island yesterday from work. made it a nice 18hr day for me. The Bruce highway was closed to south bound traffic from Elimbah, so they stopped northbound traffic from Morayfield and sent the southbound traffic down the northbound lanes for 4hrs. then at 5:30 after sitting on the highway for 5hrs I got to go through the back, back back back roads home. NO work today, can't get back through as roads are just too worn to drive on. + since I work at the airport which is between the Brisbane River and Nudgee Creek (Brisbane cities flood corridor) I decided I would prefer to stay dry at home.

If anyone has been to Brisbane recently and ever been to the manmade beach at southbank think yourself lucky cos it is now gone.
