But, i was reading a yahoo review on Mario Kart DS, (i know its american)
and it said

hey desi if you have a dlink router that doesnt work with the ds wifi try updating the firmware i did with mine and it work like i charm but then we ended up buyin a new router when we got ADSL2+

I want this thing so badly. There are people on the reveiw sheets on ebgames in america say all of the it can't do that they think it will do. Like be able to go on your comp by using tv. It is only for a wireless internet connection. not for anything else.

there are other usb wifi dongles out there that do AP mode. my partner has successfully used one of these to get his ds lite online (at LANs o_0).

i suspect that they should work with macs.

The USB dongle thingo doesn't work with Vista, only with XP.. you could either get a wireless router, or revert to windows XP on your laptop, unless you wanna do a dual boot or something like that so you can have both XP and Vista.. Just partition a little space for XP so you can play wi-fi on DS hehehe.

I don't own one of these but I think there is an application associated with the device am I correct? If it's just a driver, I can't really help you there.
But if it's an application, try running the application in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2 by right clicking the application icon, go to properties, then go to the compatibility tab.

Now in case you get any weird errors, try turning off your anti-virus.

See how you go from there.

yeh just go to control panel then network & internet connections and near the bottom theres a tab that says Windows firwall click on that. Thn this thing pops up an click on the tab that says exceptions and it will have this list of programs its blocking, then just untick whatever u want to unblock!

They only allow you to play online games, no internet. Though you can get an internet browser for DS, but it's rare.

Yea I got 1 of these...
there alright... they work great with games like pokemon and mariokart.
BTW, to everyone these do allow you to access the internet IF you have the dsi browser or the Ds/lite browser, but the thing doesn't actually provide the access, only the internet connection (via wi-fi)

DS Phat/Lite has the ability to connect to a wireless network to play on Nintendo Wi-Fi
DSi (normal and XL) has the ability to connect to a wireless network using different encryptions (I'm not sure which ones) to play Nintendo Wi-Fi as well as browse the Nintendo DSi Shop and the Internet using the a specially made Opera browser.

None of the models incorporate 3G meaning they can't connect with no Wireless network.

The USB device means that if you don't have a wireless network whereever (e.g at home) then you can plug this into your computer nad it will act as a Wireless network just for your Wii and DS.

Cost will depend on where you buy it.
If you get it off E-Bay it could be very low, they it may also be fake, so be careful.

Try searching on EB's, Jb Hi fi, Game's websites etc.
