
Nintendo has revealed 19 million 3DS handhelds have been sold since it launched a year-and-a-half ago.
In just 16 months, the 3DS has almost matched the GameCube's lifetime sales of 21.74 million units. Meanwhile, the original DS continues to strengthen its hold on the all time top spot for hardware sales with 152 million units sold, and counting.
Nintendo also revealed that the Wii has sold 96.56 million units during its five years on sale. Expect it to notch the prestigious 100 million milestone ahead of the Wii U's release later this year.
In other juicy sales news, Pokemon Black and White Version 2 dominated sales for the quarter ending June 30, selling 2.45 million copies. Of those, 30,000 were recorded as being sold outside of Japan, despite the game only being released inside Japan. It hits Australia in a more official manor later this year.
