Prepare yourself Japan for Mangaon! Okay so there's probably not too many people reading from Japan, but if you are hi! The powerfully named Mangaon is a new Manga Service for WiiWare and the DSi. Shonen Jump has revealed the service at this years Jump Festa Event and Jump will offer a range of content through the service. It has also been branded with the Jumpland website.
Reports suggest that the service will have some type of 3D navigation system which will include "game elements". Little more is know about this feature but it somehow involves interacting with characters in a 3D environment, we'll have more information on this as it's made available.
Manga fans are sure to be excited by Jump's work, including One Piece and Dragon Ball which were on display during the demo. Interestingly the Jumpland website includes an option to be displayed in English. Combine this with that fact that Shonen Jump is insanely popular in the Western world and it may not be such a long shot to believe that this may one day make it to shores outside of Japan.
