Nintendo of Europe has today confirmed the Nintendo DSi XL for the region, coming in the first quarter of 2010.
Known as the DS LL in Japan, the new Nintendo DSi has two huge 4.2" screens, increased battery life, a larger stylus and is generally a bigger unit. The revised console is aimed at the elderly and vision impaired.
It'll cost more than the current DSi (which in turn costs more than the DS Lite), but an exact price is yet to be confirmed for Europe. In Japan it costs the same as a Wii console, which in theory would price it at $399 in Australia; however, closer to $350 seems more logical after the failure of the PSPgo priced over $400.
No announcement has been made for an Australian release, but we expect to see the console around the same time as Europe.
