Nintendo rumored to be working on new DS hardware with bigger screen

Not to be outdone by Sony, the Nintendo rumor machine has been generating some hype of its own this weekend for a new DS product apparently aimed at senior citizens. The Japanese magazine Gamelabo reports in its most recent issue that Nintendo has its eyes on a revised version of the DS hardware which will feature a larger screen and more readable fonts for users who may have a difficult time playing on the smaller machine. While this rumor might sound outlandish, it does seem to fit with the company’s avowed strategy of bringing games to as many different demographics as possible. Having recently turned thirty (yes, people that old still play games) I like the idea of a larger screen and bigger buttons. It may just be the age talking, but I much preferred the buttons on the old NES controller to the clicky little ones they have given us on the DS Lite. Count me in as a possible customer if and when this rumor becomes a reality.

I don't really think it is necessary. I think he DS is fine.
the bigger screen the better
I'd like to keep my DS portable... Having to lug it around in a friggen carry case would make it somewhat less of a hand-held video game system...

I say it is fine the way it is

I second that. whats the point in having a portable thats not realy portable.
I like the current size of my DS lite, but it's good to see that Nintendo caters for such a broad audience.
man i just bought a new ds lite!!!!!!!
wow are u 30 azza?
hehe.. and I just turned 40, and I still keep my DS in my pocket! Now if only they made the fonts bigger... oh? did you say that already?! Old age must be getting to me!

NOT!

Age is just a state of mind anyway... and as long as I'm playing games, I can still kid myself that I'm half the age I really am!

i think its great for nintendo to let older people play it(i hope that didnt offend people)and to play a modern technology game.

but thats me saying and im only 12 turning 13!any way i think its cool
