It's official: hosting the Olympics kills video games sales.
Game market sales in the UK recorded its worst ever performance last week, since records began.
Just shy of 395,000 units -- including the entire software and hardware games market -- were sold in the UK, for a relatively low £8.4 million (approx. AUD $12.5 million), making it the lowest week on record, reports MCV UK.
Good news, however, if you published an Olympics-themed game or two recently in the nation currently calling itself Great Briton.
SEGA's London 2012: The Official Video Game saw an increase of 25 percent to become the best-selling game of the week ending July 28, while Mario & Sonic At The London 2012 Olympic Games returned in third.
