Japan getting rare Pikachu Yellow 3DS XL

Pikachu and his shade of yellow are becoming a rare edition of the 3DS XL (LL) in Japan later this year.

The Pikachu flavour of the 3DS XL will be sold exclusively through the Pokemon Center store in Japan. Even then, the only way to get one is to pre-order between now and September 14, reports Andriasang.

It will be sold for the standard price of 18,900 yen, but will not be available to anyone who doesn't pre-order during the limited period.

Whats wrong with the XL? its far superior to the normal 3DS.

Is this confirmed as being exclusive to Japan though? i thought that was still up for debate?

Well it's only been confirmed for Japan at the moment.

The XL is vastly superior to the standard 3DS. Given the choice, you'd be a fool to buy the original now.

It's still cute but the mouth is a bit too close to the nose imo.

You guys just must be used to small things :P

3DS XL is just right for me the standard 3DS's 3.5inch screen was far too small and after getting used to the PS Vitas huge 5inch screen it was becoming unbearable. Thank god for the XL imo.

The XL is much nicer to play on (looks better in person compared to the screens which don't really do it justice).

You sacrifice some portability, but in the age of tablets, it doesn't feel too big.
