Nintendo has announced Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for Nintendo 3DS.
For the first time in the Pokémon series, the games will be released worldwide simultaneously, this October.
Yes, that means Pokémon X and Y will be released in Australia in October, 2013, alongside Japan, Europe and North America.
The game features three new starter Pokémon: Froakie, Fennekin and Chespin.
Nintendo referenced X and Y as being "3D" -- likely due to the 3DS's stereoscopic 3D capabilities -- and demonstrated full 3D (cel-shaded) battle animations alongside a quick glimpse of the eagerly awaited 3D overworld.
