The price of AAA title games has dropped in Australia this year.

MCV reports that the average price of AAA titles in 2012 on launch day as listed by publishers is $95.77, down 8 percent from $104.74 in 2011.

Of the 26 biggest games this year, only four carry an RRP of $109.95: from EA and Activision. Some big names already released, such as Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, launched with an RRP of $89.95. Something unheard of last year.

Those prices were further reduced by online retailers and the launch day specials at JB HiFi and more recently, EB Games.

Doesn't matter which price you look at.
Us Aussies are still getting screwed.
Ture that, we pay an extra 60% or so if I remember what I heard a while ago.
I did notice that....see how it looks at the end of the year.
JB often have really good release prices.

I wouldn't pay $90+ for a new release game, I think I got Max Payne for around $70 and that was release day.
Wow 8% whoopty f***n do -_-
Still not much of a difference, needs to be more constent with US pricing.
Steam dropped their price on rage yesterday.. Normally $89 and 66% off they dropped it to the American price $29.99 with 66% off.. I was vey pleased to see it change to the american price.. Wish retail games were the same :S
When were games over $100? I don't remember this. :S
That is expensive!!

Australia has "standard" RRP price structures. These aren't what retailers normally charge (especially JB at launch), but what the publisher set.

The highest it can be now for a standard edition is $109.95. Two years ago the highest was $119.95, but that was phased out.

On the N64 there was a $129.95 price point! Hardly anything used it.

That's the highest a published can set the RRP, but they can go as low as they want.

Only four games this year are listed as $109.95 - COD and three EA games.

The average price of AAA titles in 2012 on launch day as listed by publishers is $95.77, down 8 percent from $104.74 in 2011.

OH MAN, MY CUP RUNNETH OVER

This is one of the reasons I went to PC gaming all those years ago, though.
