Pokemon Diamond Review

What can I say about Pokemon diamond, it is one of the most sold franchise to be release on Nintendo including some other games like, Mario and Zelda. As all Pokemon games should start out, you choose if you’re a boy or a girl, your name and your friend’s name. You start without any pokemon in your team. You and your friend decides to check out a gyarados at a near by lake, but what you don’t know is that they will discover something very wonderful. A brief case was dropped by two mysterious people. As soon as they left you and your friend check out the brief case and discover 3 Poke balls. You will now have to choose from 3 pokemons to battle some wild starlys that have appeared. You will then have to go see the professor (who was 1 on the mysterious people who had left the case behind). He then decides to give you the Pokemon you had chosen. The professor then sets you a challenge to discover all the unique species of pokemons in the Sinnoh region.

-Game play-

Along the way you will have catch different sorts of pokemons to help you battle your way through the region and become the best trainer in Sinnoh. From the cities to the country side you will meet trainers along the way that will battle you. For the you to be the best trainer, you will need to battle them. You will also have little side missions that you will be given by people in Sinnoh. As you will know, like the other Pokemon games there are gym leaders, which you will need to battle to earn the badge for the right to move on and unlock abilities to use along the way.

You can find pokemon lurking around tall grass or enclosed terrains. The pokemons that you discover along the way have different attributes. To catch these pokemons. You will have to decrease there health allowing you a higher chance of catching them without them fleeing. If you lower there health to nothing, you win the battle but without the pokemon you have just beaten. Your pokemons will gain experience points as you defeat trainers. At a certain point, your pokemon will level up. In some cases your pokemon will evolve. The higher the level the stronger they will get. With certain levels, your pokemon will learn different moves. In battle the moves for pokemons are displayed on the bottom screen which allows you to touch it. A good thing about this is that the buttons are pretty big allowing you not to accidentally make contact with other buttons.

When you get to a certain stage in the game, you are then able to migrate pokemons from your GBA (Game Boy Advance). An astonishing new feature to pokemon is that you can battle against other trainers from other countries using Wi-fi. This also allows you to trade pokemons with each other. Another thing is that you voice chat with the other player on the other end of the Ds. Using Wi-fi is safe because you will need the other person friends code to play. Without one you will not be able too.

This one includes over 100 more pokemons and a lot of new features like, Discovering fossils underground , Pokemon Competitions and many more. Not to mention the rare and legendary pokemon "Dialga".

-Graphics-

Graphics compared to other Pokemon games, this one is slightly better. Most of this game is 2D, but at some points there are 3D polygons which are an improvement to other Pokemon games. The textile in the game is very bright and clear enabling us to see into the details of the game a lot better. The main difference to Pokemon games on the DS and the GBA is that you have 2 screens on the Ds. The top one is where your avatar moves around and the bottom one is for the Poketch.

-Sound-

Sound in the game is very clear allowing you to detect what is going on around you. The sound changes in the background due to the weather and situations the avatar is in. Even pokemons make unique noises like... “PIKA..CHUUUU!!” Obviously that is the sound of Pikacha. “ GRRRRR” Obviously that is the sound of Guyver after reading this.

My Verdict

Gameplay 9/10

Pokemon Diamond isn’t really hard, so I recommend this game to parents and little kids. It has a really good story line which is like most Pokemon games, to “Catch em all!” and be the best trainer in the region.

Wi-Fi 9/10

This is why this game is so popular. You are able battle people all over the world... If you have there friend code.

Graphics 9/10

I am very impress on the graphics of this game. Makes me see a lot better and utilize the items knowing what they are.

Sounds 9/10

The sound is very clear. It also contains very catchy music and very funny Pokemon noises which I like to mimic. *Whoosh*... *GRRR*.

Overall 9/10

This is a very good game where people should think of getting. The sound is magnificent. This game is renowned for its unique puzzles and fun adventures. This game has install basically all the elements that you can use on the DS.
